Mountains and valleys
Mountains and valleys are the main components of the relief of Kyrgyzstan. Mountains cover more than ¾ of the country. On their tops there are more than 8,000 glaciers which are important sources of fresh water. In Kyrgyzstan there are two massive mountain ranges: the Tien-Shan and Pamir-Alai.
Water points
Water resources of Kyrgyzstan are invaluable. There are more than 40,000 large and small rivers. They rapidly flow among mountains and falling down from steep rocks, they form hundreds of beautiful waterfalls.
National parks and reserves
Protected Objects of Nature help to preserve the unique natural landscapes of Kyrgyzstan in their original form. In order to save wonderful natural landscapes, flora and fauna of the country there were created 6 reserves, 2 biosphere reserves protected by UNESCO and 75 national parks.
Cities, towns and villages
You can get acquainted with the life and culture of the Kyrgyz people in the settlements located in different regions. In the country there are a few cities and large towns. They are the capital of the country and most of the regional centers. There you can see architectural masterpieces of the Soviet era and buildings of modern style as well.
